Large 19th-Century Spanish Tin-Glazed Lebrillo/Basin from Triana, Seville, hand-painted with a dog motif in vibrant colors. The central decoration depicts a dog within a colorful background, painted in yellow, turquoise, manganese, and blue.
Dimensions: diameter 42 cm.
Condition: good antique condition, some wear consistent with age. No restorations.
Historical context: Triana, a district of Seville, was a key center of Spanish tin-glazed pottery in the 19th century. Lebrillos were originally functional basins but were also produced as decorative objects. Today, such lebrillos are often displayed in Mediterranean interiors, either on walls or tables, highlighting their color and craftsmanship.
