Polychrome Delftware plates from the 18th century frequently combined exotic birds and botanical motifs with formalized borders, reflecting both European decorative tastes and the influence of Japanese Kakiemon porcelain. Parrot motifs were especially popular, symbolizing novelty and the fascination with exotic animals.
Condition: Good overall condition. Shows slight chipping and some usual wear to the rim consistent with age.
