Dutch Delft blue and white ‘Peacock’ plate, 18th century, with ochre rim, the center decorated in cobalt with a vase containing an arrangement of peacock feathers and flowers. The rim decorated with stylized flower heads against a scrolling ground.
Marked figurative sign of a clauw for ‘The Claauw’ or ‘De Klaauw’, one of the most prominent Delft potteries between1661-1840.
Very good condition; light chipping and usual wear to the rim.
